When considering the purpose and function of the local church assembly, we have been guided by some familiar Bible passages.
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:42)
Immediately following the birth of the Church on Pentecost, we are given this first view of their activities. Here at Tyndale Bible Church you will sing hymns of praise to our Lord, you will hear the Bible taught exegetically, verse-by-verse, book-by-book, every Sunday, and on the first Sunday of every month we celebrate the Lord’s Supper and follow our service with a potluck fellowship lunch to which all are invited.
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Here at Tyndale Bible Church we teach the whole Bible. Every week you will hear a full teaching from both the Old and the New Testament. When we begin a new book we start by giving a synthetic overview of that book, considering the author, the audience, the book’s theme and a summary of each chapter so that our congregation has the overall picture of the book before we begin our verse-by-verse study.
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. (2 Timothy 2:2)
In addition to the teaching every Sunday by the pastors, you will also hear, on occasion, students from our ministry, Tyndale Theological Seminary and Biblical Institute, who are preparing for the pastorate. Just as some hospitals are “teaching” hospitals, preparing doctors and nurses to enter their occupation fully trained, so too is Tyndale Bible Church a “teaching” church, preparing our pastoral seminary students to properly present the Word of God to their flock when called to the pastorate. We also encourage the men of our congregation to do a short teaching during our “Psalms/Proverbs” time throughout the year.
We hope you will enjoy your visit to our website. Here you will get an idea of what our congregation is like, you may review our doctrinal statement, and on our “Media” page, you will be able to listen to our Sunday teachings on various Bible books. We also have directions to the church, “contact” information and a way for you to invite your friends to visit us as well.
We hope to see you at 10:00 AM this Sunday!
